Live Directing Experience

In 2019, my next move was to Austin, TX to work as a Newscast Director and Floor Director at KXAN-TV. During my time here, I quickly trained with the station upgrade of Grass Valley Ignite v11. From March 2020, I began directing during the week as well in order to assist in the transition to a more socially distant directing protocol.

Below are examples of clips from the morning newscasts and "State of Texas", a taped political show syndicated throughout the state.

After studying at the University of Florida, I moved to Charleston, SC to work as a Newscast Director at WCBD-TV News 2. I quickly trained on the automated Grass Valley Ignite system. Working weekend mornings includes the News2Today morning show and the Midday show, occasionally filling in on the evening shows.

Below are examples and clips of shows I've directed.

June 16, 2019 - News2Today full show
May 11, 2019 - Midday full show
May 7, 2019 - News2Today full show

While studying at UF, I worked closely with WUFT's First at Five student-produced daily news program. I was a director and technical director with First at Five from June 2017 to August 2018. First at Five is a live 30-minute local news show broadcasted to North Central Florida. I punched on a 4 M/E Grass Valley Kalypso switcher.

Here are some clips of the show:
